ABOUT COMFORT-TRUSS

How it all started….

Comfort-Truss Founder George HirstI’m George Hirst, Founder of Comfort-Truss Hernia Belts. I’m a super active guy who ended up with an inguinal hernia in my late thirties. I’m an all-natural type guy, so I really didn’t want to get surgery, which according to the medical establishment is the only way to fix a hernia. So I decided I was going to come up with a way to heal the hernia naturally, and document my journey in my blog (mynaturalherniacure.com) so that if I was successful, others would be able to see exactly what I did and possibly do the same for themselves.

But before I could do anything I needed a way to hold the lump in that was protruding from my groin area. With the hernia poking out all the time, I couldn’t do anything with confidence the way I used to because I was afraid that the hernia was going to blow out and become an emergency situation, but I was just not willing to give up doing all the things I love to do. If I was going to heal the hernia on my own, I would have to figure out a way to hold the hernia in comfortably, at all times, no matter what I was doing, so that I could live my life like I didn’t have a hernia.

I bought every hernia belt on the market and tried to make them work, but they all sucked terribly. They were made with big thick elastic straps, metal buckles, and hard convex-shaped pads that would dig into the hernia and cause pain. I literally couldn’t wear most of them for more than an hour without wanting to rip them off. On top of that, they were super embarrassing because they would stick up over the waistband of my surf trunks and made me look like I was wearing a diaper. I was embarrassed to get undressed in front of my wife because of it. It was a real confidence killer. So I got to work designing a solution for myself. I already knew exactly what I needed. It would have to be:

Comfortable, because I would be wearing it all day, every day.

Minimalist design. I didn’t want to have to wear anything more than I absolutely needed to keep the hernia under control.

Low profile, so that you couldn’t see it even if I were on the beach just wearing a pair of surf trunks with no shirt

Breathable,  so that it was comfortable to wear even while working out or working outside in the heat

Supportive, so that I would never, ever have to worry about the hernia blowing out no matter what I was doing.

Amphibious, so I could wear it while doing any activity in or out of the water.

With all that in mind, I got to work figuring out a design that would tick all these boxes, and what I came up with absolutely blew me away. It worked so well that I would completely forget I was wearing it most days. I did some research on the number of people who suffer from hernias (1/4 of all men in the world) and quickly realized that I could not possibly be the only person in the world looking for a solution to this problem. I decided that I would set up manufacturing and offer them for sale to others who might be in the same position as me. I called it the Comfort-Truss.

Since then, we’ve sold tens of thousands of them to active people all over the world looking for a way to not just manage their hernia, but to continue to live their life to the fullest either pre-surgery. post-surgery, while trying to heal their hernia naturally, or if they just don’t want surgery.

We are proud to manufacture all of our hernia belts in our own factory right here in the USA and ship worldwide.
